Employee of Batmaid since 01 January 2021, Berthe was recently awarded Batmaid of the Month thanks to her outstanding skills, her remarkable performance and her generous nature. Her qualities lead her not only to offer a 5-star service to all customers but also to bring them joy on a daily basis.

Today, she tells us why she decided to join Batmaid and, with her good humour and infectious joie de vivre, how much she loves her job!

Why did you join Batmaid?

When I came to Switzerland in 2015, I first started working as a nanny for different families, I then started to do some cleaning for various companies, but I never felt like I belonged there.

Then one of my friends told me about Batmaid. I had seen their advertisement on public transport and on TV, but I didn't know how or where to apply. So my friend accompanied me to their offices, I introduced myself, and I joined the platform. There, I felt comfortable right away!

I decided to join Batmaid because it is a company that promotes cleaning agents, that advocates for this profession and this is something that was not done before.

Before, a cleaning agent was not recognised neither valued. But this company does not only see us as cleaning agents, they see us as employees and put us on the same level as other professions such as nurses or lawyers.

And at Batmaid I am respected, I am monitored, and I am safe. I am safe because I know that the teams who work in the offices are there for us and I know that I can count on them.

I pray that this company will continue to bring hope, because today, and thanks to them, cleaning agents are finally recognised.

What does it mean to you to be a Batmaid?

Being a Batmaid means many things to me. First, it means success, because I have found a steady job and I now have a permanent contract with a company. But it has also brought me a lot, not only professionally, but also personally.

And every day when I put on my Batmaid apron, I feel a lot of pride, to know that a company like Batmaid has chosen me. But it also brings a lot of responsibility. Whether it's me or the other cleaning agents, we are the ambassadors of the company, and to me, it's a source of pride to represent Batmaid.

What is the most important thing about your job?

It cannot be just one thing!

First, it is to bring joy to customers. When they come home after a hard day at work, it's nice to find their home tidy and everything back in order. And when a Batmaid comes by, it's a real pleasure because everything is already clean!

Then, during this COVID-19 period, I think that a Batmaid brings a lot. It's not only about the cleaning, but it's also about bringing warmth, joy, pleasure and a bit of love too, especially during this period of time! I really enjoy being with customers and I think that our presence brings them a lot in these difficult times.

I love my job, and it's more than a job really. I clean clients' homes as if it were mine. Every day, I try to improve their lives by cleaning their homes so that at the end of the day they are as clean as the best hotels in town!
