Batmaid of the Month Luxembourg - February 2020
March 11th at 4:17pm
This month, we are pleased to introduce Mabel, a true domestic goddess, emanating joy and great energy! Thanks to her hard work, she was awarded the title of Batmaid of the Month for February in Luxembourg π±πΊ.
Originally from Ghana π¬π, Mabel is the youngest of a large family of 6 daughters. She arrived in Luxembourg at the age of 26 to rejoin her sister Wendy and is now the proud mother of three adorable children. The two youngest, aged 2 and 4, live with her in the capital while the eldest has headed back to the rest of her family in Ghana.
The weekend is always entirely devoted to her children, especially on Sundays. They watch movies together, go to the park π³ and have fun dancing together. Mabel loves music πΆ, much like her children, and also listens to music at work to give herself energy. Itβs "working happiness," she said jokingly.
Mabel is a caring and loving mother β€οΈ ; the second she has free time during the week, she runs to pick up her little ones from daycare and school to spend more time with them. She likes to cook delicious Ghanaian meals for them, such as "Jollof rice" and "Fufu", which are among her favorite dishes π.
Although she misses her family, Mabel really enjoys her life in Luxembourg and would like to stay there for many years to come. To earn a living when she first arrived, she had work as a dishwasher's helper in a restaurant for 3 years. After that, she started her career as a cleaning lady for private employers, which gave her many years of invaluable experience in the field.
It was when her employers at the time, from the USA and England, returned to their respective countries for professional reasons that Mabel decided to test the Batmaid platform, in order to find new employers and jobs quickly. Today, she particularly appreciates how easily she can manage her own cleanings online.
With the β¬ 100.- voucher at Cactus π that she will soon receive, Mabel is thinking of buying a hoover. "An indispensable tool when you have small children who are always running around," she confided to us.
